KOLAB’S TRAINING TEAM MAKES A NEW FORAY ABROAD, TO SUPPORT MSA AS A TRAINING PARTNER.

After a six-month delay due to the Covid pandemic, it was finally possible to deliver this training to aircraft maintenance company Leonardo Velivoli (Wingrip Twin-Line install and use) and to MSA’s Italian fall arrest distributor A+A Monferrato (Wingrip Twin-Line and AIO install and use Train-the-Trainer, and Twin-Line and AIO maintenance and recertification Train-the-Trainer).

The initial days of training were delivered at the Leonardo facility, adjoining Venice’s Marco Polo Airport, and its maintenance technicians were very pleased to find that Wingrip vacuum anchors showed perfect adhesion to the aircraft fuselage, even when coated with non-slip paint.

The last two days of training took place at the A+A Monferrato facility, near Turin. Once again, the Covid pandemic posed various challenges – among them the fact that, owing to Covid-related capacity restrictions, there was no room for a translator, so the trainer had to deliver the course in Italian! A further difficulty was the fact that a passenger on the outward flight to Venice tested positive, which meant that the trainer was confined for several days in a hotel room in Turin to make up the ten-day preventive quarantine.  Fortunately, it was a spacious, comfortable room, and the broadband connection was good enough to carry on working from  Kolab’s “temporary regional office in Italy”.
